American Airlines to resume seasonal nonstop service from Syracuse to Miami

SYRACUSE, NY –The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) announced today that American Airlines will resume seasonal, nonstop service to Miami International Airport (MIA) this fall. The Saturday-only service will begin November 6, 2021 and run through April 2, 2022.

The announcement follows a successful test launch of limited MIA nonstop service earlier this year from SYR. The route will be serviced by an Embraer 175 aircraft in a two-cabin configuration.

“We are excited that our partners at American Airlines continue to see value in adding another nonstop destination to the Syracuse market,” said SYR Executive Director Jason Terreri.

“Whether it’s travel for the holidays or looking ahead to spring break, Central New Yorkers will have a convenient way to trade the cold and snow for some South Florida sun and sand.”

With this announcement, the list of nonstop destinations available from SYR grows to 27 – nine of which are in the sunshine state.

“We’re eager to connect Syracuse with Miami in response to customer demand, complementing existing service from SYR to six other cities,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Vice President of Network Planning. “Whether customers are headed south for a winter getaway or they’re connecting to another destination in American’s global network, we’re making it even easier for them to get to South Florida.”
