WATERTOWN, NY — Andrew Tyler Gordan Thorigal, beloved son, brother and uncle, took his last breath on earth too soon at the age of 33 on Nov. 5, 2019.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Calling hours will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home.
Son of Mary and Tyler Thorigal, Drew was born on October 11, 1986. He graduated from General Brown High School in 2005 and married his soulmate and one true love, Brittany Walroth Thorigal on September 5, 2009.
Tragically, Drew lost Brittany, the love of his life, in a car accident on July 5, 2010. His unending love for his wife was evident every day of his life. Years later her presence was still felt on his heart and he cherished his memories of her until the day they were finally reunited with one another.
In addition to his parents, father Tyler Thorigal of Syracuse, mother Mary Thorigal and stepfather Chris Manning of Watertown, Andrew is survived by his sister Julie “Jewels” Thorigal and his nephews DeShaun Thorigal-Brown and Tejen “Tank” Thorigal, with whom he resided. Drew loved being an uncle more than anything in his life and he will be forever missed by Dede and his buddy Tank.
Drew’s beloved baby sister Jillian Boyle, her husband Joshua, their three daughters Ashlynn, Madalynn, Irelynn, and his brother Tyler Lyndaker along with his partner Melissa Crosby and his niece and nephew Shealynn and Hunter Lyndaker are among the many who are heartbroken to have lost such an incredible soul too young. Though his sister and nieces reside in California, Drew always made it a point to check in with his girls as they were never far from his heart, a true example of the man he was.
Megan Williams, cherished friend of Andrew and Brittany, and her sons Camden, Gauge and Brody Hughes were loved by Drew as family. Their presence in his life gave him immeasurable joy. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Cathy and William Penney, Pamela and Gerry Kostyk, Trudy Casale and Colleen Kelly; his cousin, Keitha Kostyk; and his godparents Lee Mosseau and James Coldiron.
In addition to his wife Brittany, Andrew was predeceased by his grandparents Mary Jean and K. Duane Marshall, Gordan and Regina Thorigal and Patricia Manning.
Drew had a lifelong love of the outdoors. He was happiest spending time at the family cottage on Pillar Point, sitting around a good campfire, working with his hands and building concoctions for his nephews to try out. He also had a bit of reputation for wrecking all of Jewel’s vehicles, although she loved him all the same. Drew owned his own lawn care and snow removal business, a trade that suited his desire to be outside, marching to the beat of his own drum.
Though forever heartbroken, Drew’s family knows that he has found light and peace at last now that his heart is reunited with his forever love Brittney.
