Ann M. Loftus, 83, formerly of Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Ann M. Loftus, 83, Cicero and formerly of Mill St., Watertown, passed away Monday evening, July 30, 2018, at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown with Rev. Jonas Tandayu, MSC, pastor, presiding followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.

Ann was born in Syracuse on March 4, 1935, daughter of Sam and Eva (Oliveri) Chiappone. The family moved to Watertown and she graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy.

On April 21, 1956 she married Thomas M. Loftus at St. Patrick’s Church. Mr. Loftus, a long-time employee of Stebbins Engineering, died July 21, 2009.

Earlier in her life she worked as a bookkeeper for Haver, King, & King, CPA, but most of her life she was a devoted homemaker to her family. While living in Watertown she was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.

For the last nine years, she had lived with her daughter, Maureen, in Cicero.

She is survived by her two daughters, Maureen J. Davison, Cicero and Shelly M. Hutsell, TX; four grandsons, Ryan and Kyle Davison and Travis and Christopher Hutsell; sister Josie McCarthy and husband, Joseph, Watertown and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
