Ardalee J. Buttry, 76, Brownville

BROWNVILLE, NY — Ardalee J. Buttry, 76, of 300 Rice St., Brownville, passed away June 21, 2019, at the Carthage Area Hospital where she was surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 19, 1942, the daughter of Carlton and Arah Wicks Meeks, she attended Evans Mills High School.

She married Donald Davis. The marriage ended in divorce. She then married William “Scott” Buttry. The marriage ended in divorce after 35 years.

She worked various jobs in the local area, at Seaway Laundromat for ten years and later in life was a homemaker.

She enjoyed doing crafts, playing lottery tickets, taking rides in the Adirondacks and along the water and she was well known by all her family and friends for her beautiful white hair.

Among her survivors are her three children and their spouses, Wayne and Judy Davis, Massena, NY, Danielle and Kenneth Larson, Carthage, Diette and Jamie Mahan, Calcium, 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Roger Snow, Massachusetts, Leara Meeks, Lori Stanford, Lisa and Dave Dudley, a sister in law, Nancy Meeks, all of Watertown, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Earl Meeks.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. It was her wish to be cremated and no calling hours or funeral service.

The family would like to thank the hospital as well as the hospital personnel who provided wonderful care for their mother.  Donations may be made in her memory to the Carthage Area Hospital.
