Assemblyman Gray comments on extended legislative session

A Statement by Assemblyman Scott Gray (R-Watertown)

“It is glaringly obvious this legislative session has been mismanaged from day one—from a late state budget to session ending two weeks after it was scheduled to conclude. This end of session has been a continued assault on local government, pro-criminal rights and a highly partisan agenda.

“Further, the state Legislature continues its attack on transparency with bills bypassing the proper committee process, bypassing necessary media scrutiny and proper public input. There is no coincidence that controversial bills come out at the last moment, this is an organized affront to New Yorkers. Process matters. With every vote, I have considered my constituents and district and voted in their interest. I want those in my district to know I am listening to you and I am more motivated than ever to make sure you are heard by the entire Assembly.”
