Audrey J. Ayles, 85, Adams

ADAMS, NY — Audrey J. Ayles, 85, Adams, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertowm, where she had been a patient since Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Audrey was born March 5, 1933, in Adams, a daughter of Edwin and Thelma Shangraw Smith.

She married Alfred Ayles on Oct. 13, 1951, in Adams Center, NY.

Audrey was a member of the Henderson Methodist Church, Henderson Rescue Squad, Henderson Library Board and the supper club. She enjoyed the time she could volunteer at these organizations and made many fond memories.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred, her son, Barry and his companion Debbie Reynolds, Adams; Valerie Boynton and her companion James Westervelt, St. Petersburg, Florida;  Darcey and Ronald Fargo, Adams;  grandchildren, Rachel Johnson, Travis Ayles, Jason Barry, Brady Boynton, Andrew Fargo, David Fargo and Jennifer Wadsworth. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, longtime friends, Jeanne Hubbard, Jeanette Streeter and her loving dog, Fang.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Lorraine Smith and her grandson Christopher Boynton.

A memorial service will be held noon Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Henderson United Methodist Church. A calling hour will precede the service from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will follow the service in Evergreen Cemetery, Nohle Road, Henderson.  Following the burial there will be a luncheon at the Henderson Community Building.
