Audrey J. Robbins, 76, Plessis

PLESSIS, NY – Audrey J. Robbins, 76, of Route 26, Plessis, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 23, at her home where she had been under the care of her loving family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Born Jan. 27, 1942, in Brownville, NY, the daughter of Danford and Marion Phelps Shultz, she graduated from Alexandria Central High School.

She owned and operated the Exit 49 Diner for many years and drove school bus for the Alexandria Central School District.

She married Gerald H. “Tony” Robbins on April 4, 1961, at the Plessis Methodist Church.

Audrey enjoyed gardening and her dogs.

She volunteered as a transportation driver for Jefferson County.

Beside her husband Tony, she is survived by five sons, Rusty (Tina) Shultz, Plessis, Todd Robbins and his companion Mary Cook, Theresa, Brett (Sherry) Robbins, LaFargeville, Edward “Zeb” (Dawn) Robbins, LaFargeville, and T.J. (Julie) Robbins, Cape Vincent, two daughters, Colleen (Renae) Robbins, Wellesley Island and Carmon Robbins and her companion Jim Buley, Plessis, 11 grandchildren, and  eight great-grandchildren. Also her step-brother Fred Shultz, and step-sister, Nellie Shultz Williams, both of  LaFargeville, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother, George Shultz.

Graveside services will be held in the spring of 2019 at Brookside Cemetery in Plessis, at a time to be announced.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or the American Cancer Society.
