Barbara A. Ebersol, 83, Croghan

CROGHAN, NY – Barbara A. Ebersol, 83, of George Street, Croghan, passed away late Friday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2019, at Lewis County General Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, at the Apostolic Christian Church of America, Lowville, with Ministers of the Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville.

Born March 16, 1936, in Lowville, NY, a daughter of the late Harlan and Margaret Lomber Ransier, she attended country school in Martinsburg, and graduated from Lowville Academy in 1955.  Barb worked for Greystone Manor Nursing Home from 1955 until 1962.

On March 9, 1957, she married Kayland L. “Pete” Ebersol at the Lowville Baptist Church Parsonage, with Rev. Sawin officiating. Pete passed away in September 1972.

Barb worked for AMF Bowling Products in Lowville from 1970 until 1973.

On Oct. 6, 1973, she married Frederick Ebersol at the Lowville United Methodist Church. Barb helped her husband Fred on the Arthur Stanton farm until May 1987. Beginning in the spring of 1988, together with her husband, the couple mowed the seven old Town of Lowville cemeteries, until retiring in 1997.  Fred passed away on Sept. 27, 2019.

Barb was a member of Apostolic Christian Church of America, Lowville. She mowed the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Croghan from 1988 until 1997, and the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Naumburg from 1995 until 1997. Barb was janitor of Apostolic Christian Church from October 1987 until June 2007.

She enjoyed making quilts, sewing, embroidery, gardening and canning.

She is survived by a step – daughter and her husband, Linda and Ralph Bush of Lowville; four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and two on the way; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barb was predeceased by her beloved husband Frederick Ebersol, and her first husband Kayland “Pete” Ebersol.
