Carol H. Loconti, 75, formerly of Croghan

CROGHAN, NY — Carol H. Loconti, 75, formerly of Croghan, died late Saturday evening, Oct. 24, 2020, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility in Lowville.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service that will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Croghan.  There will be no calling hours. Please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.

Born Dec. 30, 1944, in Watertown, NY, a daughter of the late Adrian and Grace Pate’ Henry, she attended Father Leo Memorial School and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Malone, NY in 1962. She attended Utica School of Business and then worked for Mele Manufacturing in Utica as and IBM operator before her marriage.

On Nov. 14, 1964, she married Joseph A. Loconti at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Utica. The couple lived in Rochester, where Mrs. Loconti worked as an IBM key punch operator, until moving to Croghan in 1967. She worked alongside her husband and father in the Henry – Loconti Insurance Agency, Inc. from 1967 until 1984.

She was a communicant of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Croghan, and was active with bingo, fundraising and the church hospitality committee.

Mrs. Loconti was also active as a Girl Scout leader and was a member of the Croghan Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Many people will remember Carol for being someone who would listen and provide counsel or assistance to anyone facing a challenge. Despite suffering a devastating head injury at the young age of 40, she continued to touch many lives with her sheer strength and tenacity, as well as her loving nature and sense of humor.

Mrs. Loconti is survived by her two daughters and their spouses; Kathlene Loconti and her husband, Michael LaBuz of Clinton, NY; Concetta and Craig Overend of Auburn, NY; three grandchildren, Gabriel Overend, Adriana LaBuz and Ethan LaBuz; a sister and her husband, Ann and Lee Sergott of Utica, NY; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Loconti who passed away on Sept. 15, 2013; and a sister and her husband, Barbara and Francis Buckingham.
