Carthage man charged with sexual and physical abuse of a child, troopers say

CARTHAGE, NY — State Police in Carthage arrested Javon M. Marshall, age 22, from Carthage, was charged by state police with for first-degree sex abuse (class “D” felony), second-degree assault (class “D” felony), and endangering the welfare of a child (class “A” misdemeanor).

On Sept. 27, 2018, Chief Reginald Huber from the Carthage Police Department requested assistance from state police with a reported sexual and physical abuse of a 16-month-old infant.

The infant was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical Center for a medical evaluation.

Marshall was arraigned in village of Carthage Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Jail on $30,000 cash bail/$60,000 bond.
