LOWVILLE, NY – Catherine A. Crego, 58, died late Saturday evening, Nov. 30, 2019, at her home.
Born May 16, 1961, in Watertown, the daughter of David and Mary (Caplicki) Smith, she attended Lowville Academy Central School. She was a past employee of Service Master in Lowville.
Cathy loved spending time with family, playing with her grandchildren and time spent with friends. She always would help anybody in need. She was one of a kind, and always had her door open for anyone who needed a place to stay. Cathy will always be remembered and never forgotten.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tammy M. (Stephan) Allen and Rebeka A. Caplicki, her grandchildren, Chantelle, Tristain, Liam, Ariana, Annabella, Macayle, and Lily, her mother Mary Akin, her brother, Timothy (Sherry) Akin, and her sister Lisa (Joshua) Moser, nieces and nephews.
Cathy was predeceased by two children, Glenn D. Caplicki and Amy S. Brodt, and a brother, Anthony W. “Tony” Akin.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at the Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Roggie officiating. Spring burial will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from noon until the time of the service.
