Charissia R. Davis Haas, 62, LaFargeville

LAFARGEVILLE, NY —  Charissia R. Davis Haas, 62, of State Rt. 411, passed away, Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY, with her family and friends by her side.

Born June 24, 1958, in Fort Worth, TX, she was a daughter of Weinrick N. and Wanda C. Long Davis. In 1963 the Davis family moved to a farm in LaFargeville, where Charissia was currently living. She was a 1976 graduate of LaFargeville Central School.

A marriage to George W. Haas on July 15, 1978, ended in divorce. They remained very close until his passing on December 27, 1996. Then she married her high school sweetheart, Ronald J. LaRose. This marriage ended in divorce and she became his caregiver after an accident in 2001.

Charissia will be remembered as a 4 Forks Chef in the local area. She worked at various restaurants which included, Bonnie Castle Resort, Beefer’s, Foxy’s, O’Brien’s and Longways, to name just a few.

Her children will always have special memories of fishing with their Mom, eating bologna sandwiches and drinking long neck bottles of Pepsi.

Survivors include a daughter, Christina M. Haas and her companion, Mark  Seaman, Gouverneur, NY; a son, George W. Haas, Jr. and his companion, Julia Smith, Clayton, NY; a son, Matt LaRose and his companion, Kelly Noe, Illinois; a daughter, Rebecca LaRose, Ohio; grandchildren, Tamarra (Kelly), Riley, Seth, Bryce and Calvin; a great-granddaughter, Nova; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Margaret Austin, Waco, TX; a sister, Theresa Priester, TX; a brother-in-law, Henry Haas; she was very fond of sister-in-law, Lori (Cliff) Woodard, Theresa, NY, niece, Lisa (Brent) Levely, LaFargeville, NY, niece, Pamela (John) Kerr, Hammond, NY; Charissia was part of a very large family with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who will all cherish memories of her.

She was preceded in death by her father in 2009 and her mother in 2010.

A Celebration of Life will be held noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at the home of her niece, Pamela Kerr, 691 NYS Rt. 37, Hammond, NY.
