Clarkson women’s hockey 2018 NCAA championship banner raising day on Oct. 20

POTSDAM, NY — For the third time in the five years, Clarkson will celebrate the back-to-back National Champions Golden Knights Women’s Hockey team when the University holds the 2018 NCAA Championship Banner Raising Day. On Saturday, October 20 prior to faceoff of the 3:00 p.m. non-league game against St. Lawrence University, the Green and Gold will raise another banner to the Cheel Arena rafters to go alongside those signifying the Golden Knights’ 2014 and 2017 Championships.

The Golden Knights skated to their second consecutive NCAA Title and third National Championship in the past five years with overtime victories vs Ohio State (1-0) and Colgate (2-1) at the Frozen Four held at Ridder Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota on March 16-18.

Clarkson finished its third championship season in the 15-year history of the program with a 36-4-1 overall record, including a 19-3 first-place ECAC Hockey mark.

Clarkson will also be holding children activities at the Cheel Campus Center to help celebrate the banner-raising day and Family Weekend from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. prior to the game between the Knights and St. Lawrence.
