Community COVID-19 testing Wednesday in Lowville

LOWVILLE, NY ─ Lewis County Health System will offer an expanded community COVID-19 drive-thru testing clinic on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the main hospital campus in Lowville. There is no charge for the Abbott BinaxNOW Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Test.

According to Gerald R. Cayer, LCHS Chief Executive Officer, “Providing access and expanding COVID-19 testing capacity is key to supporting the public health response and slowing and containing community spread of the virus in Lewis
County.”

Positive test results are reported immediately to Lewis County Public Health who will notify each individual of a positive COVID-19 test result. This is a “rapid” test which is not sent out to a reference lab. Due to the high volumes of COVID testing, individuals with negative results will not receive a call.

The testing site is located in parking lot #6, off NYS Route 26. Drive past the Helicopter Landing Zone and follow the COVID Clinic traffic signs.

All patients requesting testing must be at least eight years of age and will be asked to provide their name, date of birth, physical address, email address, and a phone number to allow for contact tracing and result follow-up.

Testing this week is also available on Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Members of the community can visit https://www.lcgh.net/coronavirus for additional testing dates and times.
