Daniel J. Greenfield, Sr., 84, LaFargeville

LAFARGEVILLE, NY – Daniel J. Greenfield, Sr., 84 of Hart Road, formerly of Lowville, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 12, 2019, at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date. Daniel has generously
donated his body as an Anatomical Gift to SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.

Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.

Born Oct. 30, 1934, in Lowville, a son of the late Earl C. and Luella E. McBain and attended Lowville Academy, he served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956.

On Jan. 1, 1957, he married Myrtle “Punkie” Dunn at the Lowville United Methodist Church Parsonage.

He worked on Henry Zehr’s farm on Route 177 and the Lowville Feed and Grain. He then worked for New York Air Brake from 1966 to 1998, when he retired. He was a security guard for Lewis County Dairy from 1998 to May 2006. Mrs. Greenfield died on April 27, 2010.

He was a member of the Lewis County Memorial Post #6912, Lowville VFW and was a past member of the Lewis County Draft Horse Club.

He enjoyed woodworking and enjoyed raising draft horses.

He is survived by his sons, Daniel J. Greenfield Jr. of San Diego, CA, Richard C. and
Samantha Greenfield, of Clarksville, TN, Jeffrey L. and Laurette Greenfield of Panama City, FL; a sister, Edris Fox of Carthage; four half-brothers, Walter C. Jones of Glenfield, Virgil and Karen Jones of Lowville, Thomas and Linda Jones of Lowville, Merrit and Misty Jones of Castorland; two half-sisters, Mona and Richard Mooney of Lyons Falls, Nancy and Richard Rice of Lowville; five grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by two sons, Earl James Greenfield, and William Edward Greenfield; two grandsons, Corey James Greenfield and Travis Greenfield; his beloved companion, and the love of his life, Gayle Young; and two sisters, Myrtle Jones and Linda Mashaw.

Daniel’s son Richard says, “I love you and I will miss you”.
