WATERTOWN, NY — David E. Backus, 61, of Mechanic Street, Watertown, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at his home.
The memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Felts Mills Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born in Watertown, September 24th, 1957, a son to Donald C. and Shirley M. Millen Backus. He graduated from Watertown High School. David worked for Northland Electric and Scott Fetzer for over 20 years.
David was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his Harley Davidson motorcycles and always enjoyed a good laugh with his friends.
David is survived by a brother, Rodney (Susan) Backus, Rodman; a sister, Linda Backus, Syracuse; a niece, Melissa (Ben) Poirier and a nephew, Ryan (Kim) Backus; two great-nieces and a great nephew; aunts, uncles and cousins.
