David K. Dawes, 73, Carthage

CARTHAGE, NY – David K. Dawes, 73, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 3, 2019, in the emergency room at Carthage Area Hospital.

Born May 31, 1946, in Carthage, NY, a son of the late Emmanuel James and Geraldine Delores (Baker) Dawes, he graduated in 1964 from Augustinian Academy and went onto serve in the United States Army.

Later, he was employed with Rist-Frost-Warneck Consulting Engineers in Watertown, NY. He was most recently employed as a draftsman for the Travis Pruitt and Associates Consulting Services in Norcross, Georgia.

Surviving are a brother, Harold Dawes, Carthage; a sister, Anita Armstrong, Kansas City; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Alma Frezza, Rita Cain and Emily Butler-Frezza.

He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the National American Legion.

Calling hours will be held 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at St. James Catholic Church in Carthage. A Mass will be said at 10 a.m. immediately following the calling hour. Burial will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery.
