ADAMS, NY — David M. Bigelow, 61, Adams, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
A celebration of his life will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Eagles Club, Washington St., Watertown.
David was born in Watertown, NY, the son to Daniel and Mary Zehr Bigelow. He graduated from Carthage Central School. He worked construction for several years as a laborer.
David married Cheryl Hodge on Dec. 31, 1990, in Watertown, with Howard George officiating.
Besides his wife Cheryl he is survived by his stepson, Justin Fuhrman, Watertown; brother, Dean Bigelow, Florida; half-brothers, Daniel Zehr, Virginia; Kevin Gonyou, South Carolina; Mitchell Gonyou, Watertown; half-sister, Carla Gonyou, Watertown; step-grandchildren, Madeline and Joshua Fuhrman.
He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Danny Bigelow, sister, Carolyn Bigelow, half-sister, Helen Gonyou and his step-son, Joshua Fuhrman.
David enjoyed watching football especially his favorite team the San Diego Chargers. His “Happy Go Lucky” attitude was what made him the special person he was, a hard worker and was loved by all.
