LOWVILLE, NY —Â On Feb. 18, 2023, at approximately 10:09 p.m. Lewis County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one snowmobile crash that occurred on Culpepper Road in the town of Montague.
Deputies report that a 2012 Arctic Cat F 800C operated by John R. Hare, 44, Deer Park, NY, was traveling southeast on Trail C5 (Culpepper Road) when he exited the western side of the trail and struck a tree.
Hare was transported to Lewis County General Hospital where was listed in critical condition He was subsequently transported to SUNY Upstate.
Deputies were assisted by New York State Police, Lewis County Search and Rescue, Martinsburg Fire Department and Groff’s Towing.
