OSWEGO, NY — On March 5, 2023, the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation after receiving information that child sexual abuse material was being sent on Kik from the address of a home in the Town of Sandy Creek.
On March 30, a search warrant was executed at the home and many electronic devices were seized, including seven cellular phones. While executing the search warrant, Anthony C. Friot, who is 31 years old, was taken into custody.
Later, on March 30, Friot was charged with three counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child and was arraigned in Oswego County CAP Court where he was remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. Friot posted $1,000 bail that night and was released.
