Deputies: Man wanted on warrant evades arrest in Champion

CHAMPION —  At approximately 2:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, JCSO deputies responded to a suspicious activity complaint on Sayre Road in the town of Champion. As a result of that complaint, deputies went to a home on nearby Cole Road in Champion and attempted to make an arrest on a violation of probation warrant.

During the arrest attempt the suspect fled his home through a bedroom window and took off on foot.
The suspect is a white male, 5’4”, 130lbs, and was last seen wearing a blue hoodie and blue jeans. His identity is known to law enforcement but his name is being withheld at this time.

Town of Champion residents likely noticed an increased patrol presence in the area this evening. The suspect was not armed, he is not known to be dangerous, and he is not considered a danger to the public. However, he is still at large and area residents are encouraged to call 911 to report any suspicious activity or sightings. More information will follow when appropriate.
