WATERTOWN, NY —Â Please be advised that motorists will encounter lane closures on the northbound and southbound bridges carrying I-81 over Sandy Creek and over State Route 178 in Southern Jefferson County beginning Thursday, May 11.
The lane closures are necessary to complete the rehabilitation of the wearing surfaces on the bridges. Both northbound and southbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane to complete the work. The lane closures will be in place until late fall.
Message boards have been deployed to alert travelers to the upcoming change. Motorists may encounter minor delays during morning and evening commutes.
