An exciting and entertaining new show featuring vocal sensation Steve Lippia singing American Pop Songs – of yesterday and today – made famous by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Vic Damone and Bobby Darin.
Steve Lippia took the Pops world by storm performing his original show “Simply Sinatra” to sold-out audiences across North America! He has become one of the most prominent, in-demand vocalists and has quickly established his place among the finest interpreters of “standards” and traditional pop music in the nation.
Steve’s youthful, energetic talent and powerful shows create a perfect
blend of “classic” with “today.”
You will be wowed, captivated and mesmerized by “Sinatra and Friends” as Steve treats the audience to an evening of great, timeless hits from influential vocalists that were and continue to be a significant part of the fabric of American Popular music.
The Orchestra of Northern New York was founded 31 years ago by their Music Director and Conductor Kenneth Andrews. ONNY”s professional musicians hail from New York, New Jersey, New England and Canada. Many of them are faculty members of the Crane School of Music, and a select few exceptionally talented Crane students. Many of ONNY’s musicians have performed with the Montreal Symphony, Toronto Symphony, National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse Symphonies and other major orchestras around the world.
Opening up for DPAO’s Spring Show: Steve Lippia starring in “Sinatra and Friends” will be local performer Mike Tyo. Mike was enrolled in the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam where he majored in organ. While there he participated in the closing ceremonies at the 1980 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid, New York. Mike was born totally blind but quickly adapted to the situation and came to regard his blindness as a nuisance – not a disability. Mike has been Church Organist at the Adams United Methodist Church since December 1984.
