Edwina Boshart, 89, Carthage

CARTHAGE, NY – Edwina Boshart, 89, formerly of Meadowbrook Terrace, died early Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Carthage Center for Rehabilitation, Carthage, N.Y.

Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, at the Naumburg Mennonite Church. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at the Croghan Mennonite Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Naumburg Mennonite Church with Titus Mast, and Myron Roggie, Pastors, officiating.

Born Nov. 29, 1928, in Lowville, a daughter of the late Raymond and Barbara Zehr Noftsier, she attended Beaver River School and married Eli Boshart. Mr. Boshart died in 1973.

She worked as an LPN for Carthage Area Hospital, retiring after 13 years of service.

Edwina was a member of Naumburg Mennonite Church.

She enjoyed quilt making, knitting, playing piano, dancing and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by four sons, Edgar D. Boshart of Arlington, VA; Sanford Boshart of Atlanta area, GA; David (Ruth) Boshart of Asheville, NC; Glen (Catherine) Boshart of Gaithersburg, MD; two daughters, Gloria Jean (Terry) Helmuth of Asheville, NC; Brenda (Fred) Hankinson of Hendersonville, NC; two brothers and three sisters-in-law; Leslie (Barbara) Noftsier of Beaver Falls, NY; Joseph Noftsier of Castorland, NY, Charlotte Noftsier of Lowville; Phyllis Noftsier of Lowville;10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Two brothers, Alvin and Ervin Noftsier, died before her.
