Elaine Lanning, 74, Cape Vincent

CAPE VINCENT, NY — Elaine Lanning, 74, Cape Vincent, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, as a resident of Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont.

Born April 21, 1944, in Watertown, NY, the daughter of Gladys and Merton Majo of Dexter, she attended Dexter schools and graduated from General Brown High School.

Elaine enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time on both Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. For 15 years she enjoyed spending the winters in Florida with her beloved husband Ken, along with all her friends from around the United States, Canada, and Great Britain.

She also loved her two fun loving dogs Christy and Pepper.

Elaine worked as a clerk for NYSDOT in Watertown for 37 ½ years, retiring in April of 1999.

She is survived by her husband Ken of 38 years; a son Joseph Siraqusa and his wife Jennifer; a stepson Kurt Lanning and his wife Lori; and a sister, Joan Mac Jones of Florida.

She was predeceased by her parents, and a sister, Jane Bates of Cape Vincent.

Elaine’s body will be cremated upon her request.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday Nov. 24, at Becker-Cleveland Funeral home in Chaumont, NY. A burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery will be at a later date.
