DEXTER, NY –– Elizabeth R. Richter, 89, Dexter, passed away Monday afternoon, Jan. 14, at the home of her daughter with family by her side under the care of Hospice.

Born Oct. 11, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y. the daughter of Patrick F. and Mary E. Foley Scully, she graduated from school at Lady of Perpetual Hope, PS 140 in Brooklyn and became a registered nurse following three years of nursing school.

She married Edward C. Richter on June 23, 1951, in Brooklyn. Mr. Richter passed away Sept. 24, 1994.

Elizabeth was a Registered Nurse working at Shore Road Hospital and her last ten years was at the Carthage Area Hospital. She was a member of the Grange, Natural Bridge Ladies Fire Auxiliary, St. Henry’s Altar and Rosary. She so enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by the following children: Daniel and Lori Richter of Hume, NY, Irene Sullivan and Alan Gross of Dexter, Helen and Steve Brotherton of Philadelphia, NY.  She has seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A brother William Scully of Pompano Beach, FL also survives.

She was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Hedges.

A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Immaculate Conception Church of Brownville with Fr. J. Michael Gaffney officiating.  Burial will be in St. Cecelia’ Catholic Cemetery in Adams in the spring. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
