Eric Lewis, 84, Grindstone Island

GRINDSTONE ISLAND, NY — Eric Lewis, 84, of Liverpool and a summer resident of Grindstone Island, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 24, at home following a brief illness surrounded by his family.

Eric was born and raised in Clayton graduating from the class of 1950. He then went on to CCBI business institute earning a degree in accounting, which he utilized while working in the automotive industry for 25 years.

Eric was an avid Syracuse University sports fan and antique outboard motor collector.

He enjoyed the St. Lawrence River and island time with his family.

Eric is survived by his loving wife Linda of 63 years as well as his children, Brenda Luce (Rodney), Eric Jr. (Nancy) & Clay (Dawn). He was blessed with three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have been made through Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton.

A celebration of life service will be held noon Saturday, September 1st, at the River Church in Clayton, Bartlett Point Road. Calling hours will be held from 11 a..m. to noon Saturday at the church followed by a service beginning at 12 noon.
