Evangeline E. McDonald, 95, formerly of Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY – Evangeline E. McDonald, 95, formerly of Watertown, passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 5, 2018, at Loretto Nursing Home, Syracuse.

A calling hour will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown, followed by the 11 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home with Fr. Jonas Tandayu, MSC presiding. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.

Born March 10, 1923, in Carthage, the daughter of Perley E. and Rubena (Mintz) Arnold, she attended Watertown schools.

On May 17, 1942 she married Vernon L. McDonald in the rectory at Holy Family Church with Rev. John Doonan officiating. Mr. McDonald died Dec. 24, 1996.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and a member and supporter of Jefferson Rehabilitation Center. She was also a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Assoc. (NARFE).

She is survived by two grandchildren, Mark and Heather, great grandson, Jason, sister-in-law, Leoda Arnold, Clay and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Vernon, Evangeline was predeceased by her son, Edward V. McDonald, July 8, 1995, daughter, Patricia A. McDonald, April 2, 2006, and one brother, David H. Arnold.

In lieu of flowers, her family wishes donations in her name to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 320 W. Lynde St., Watertown, NY 13601.
