First coronavirus vaccine administered at Clifton-Fine Hospital

STAR LAKE, NY – As the local numbers of COVID-19 continue to rise, hope arrived at Clifton-Fine Hospital in the form of a vaccine on December 22, 2020.

Pictured below is Emma Schoff, RN, a member of the COVID resource and vaccination team at Clifton-Fine Hospital, receiving the shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

This shipment is part of the state’s initial allocation to vaccinate people deemed most essential or most at risk. This group includes frontline health care workers, as well as staff members and residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities, first responders and emergency medical personnel.

Also pictured below is Chelsea Snyder-Dennis, RN, Director of Nursing, the first staff member to receive the shot within hours of the vaccine arriving.

Clifton-Fine Hospital plans to vaccinate all priority staff before Christmas.

“I feel like healing arrived in a box today,” said CEO Dierdra Sorrell. “It’s an exciting
time of renewed hope for our staff and our community.”
