Floyd J. Disotell, Sr., 69, Glenfield

GLENFIELD, NY — Floyd J. Disotell, Sr., 69, lost his battle with colon cancer at his home early Thursday morning, April 18, 2019, under the care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

Born June 29, 1949, in Hermon, the son of the late Abraham J. and Louise M. Barrett Disotell, he attended school at Morrisville Eaton High School. He managed a veal farm for Louis Davis.

Floyd married Mary Williams on Aug. 17, 1969, and their marriage ended in divorce.

Floyd loved fishing especially bullhead, going hunting, spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed visiting with people.

He is survived by his significant other of 42 years, Mary Ellen Rogers, his children, Nova Disotell, Melinda Disotell, Troy (Heather) Disotell, and Floyd Disotell; his grandchildren, Michael Disotell, Keign and Kdedra Grabowski, Rian Rogers, Jordan Santamour, Jack Fitzgerald, Josh Mandarino, Blake, Devyn, Alayna, Rylee Disotell; two great grandchildren, Raelynn and Jullianna Rogers; his three sisters, Johanne Mothersell, Dorothy Fox, Mary Louise White, three brothers, Carl, Thomas, Edward Disotell; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Tina Marie Disotell; four brothers, Leonard, Sylvester, Robert and Roger Disotell, a sister, Dawn Marie Westover.

Calling hours for family and friends will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2019, at the Sundquist Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, April 23, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Old Glendale Cemetery.
