Former US Army Secretary, North Country Congressman McHugh endorses Stefanik

GLEN FALLS, NY — The Stefanik campaign today announced former United States Army Secretary and long serving District Representative John McHugh endorsed Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for reelection.

“I was honored to serve as a Member of Congress for almost nine terms representing the North Country, and I’m proud to endorse Congresswoman Stefanik for reelection,” said McHugh. “Having previously appeared before Congresswoman Stefanik’s Armed Services Committee in my role as Secretary of the Army, I was continuously impressed with her command of the issues and dedication to the men and women of the United States military.

“She has demonstrated remarkable leadership as Chairwoman for the Emerging Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee, and was the driving force behind President Trump’s Fort Drum visit to sign the National Defense Authorization Act. For her tireless advocacy for our military service members and our veterans, and for her strong, bipartisan record of pro-job policies that promote a stronger economic future for North Country families, I proudly endorse Elise Stefanik.”

“I am deeply honored to have earned the endorsement of former Secretary and Congressman John McHugh,” said Stefanik. “For almost nine terms in Congress an as Secretary of the Army, John McHugh has long served as a strong, principled North Country voice. I’ grateful for his support and for his friendship.”
