WPD: Fort Drum man’s BAC was 0.25%

WATERTOWN, NYJames H. Scott II, 30, of 20358 Bagram Road, Fort Drum, was charged by Watertown police at 12:53 a.m. Saturday, March 2, in the 200 block of Black River Parkway with aggravated driving while intoxicated, illegal signal from a park position, improper left turn, unsafe lane change, failure to use a designated lane and refusal to take a breath test.

His blood alcohol content during a test at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building was 0.25 percent, police said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI, which carries harsher penalties upon conviction, is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or greater.

He was released to military custody and summoned to appear March 20 in City Court.
