Francis J. “Frankie” Forney, 72, Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, NY — Francis J. “Frankie” Forney, 72, of US Rt. 11, Philadelphia, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2108, at his home.

Born April 21, 1946, at home in Oxbow, NY, a son of Francis John and Verna Toth Forney, he attended Indian River Central School.

A marriage to Keitha Tibbles in the 1960s and a marriage to Gail Noone in the 1980s, both ended in divorce.

He was a painter all of his life, painting bridges all over the state.  For many years he worked for St. Lawrence Steel Painting & Maintenance, Alexandria Bay, NY, and in later years he was self-employed.

Frankie enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter.  He also raised farm animals.

Survivors include six daughters, Debbie Hayes and husband Jim of Antwerp, NY, Tina Wilson and husband Thomas of Theresa, NY, Sally Wilcox and husband Dave of Theresa, NY, Wanda Forney of Theresa, NY, Michelle Cook and husband Troy of Depauville, NY, Maria Rayes of Theresa, NY; fifteen grandchildren, Pete Forney, Bert Forney, Corey Bouvier, Timothy Barton, Jr., Francis Reynolds, Gabrielle Wilson, Tori Wilcox, Cassie Wilcox, Gino Cappuccetti, III, Toni Cappuccetti, Santino Cappuccetti, Keila Kalk, Skylar Cook, Akilian Ottman and Alexiah Ottman; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sally Waite, Watertown, NY; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Karen Forney, Antwerp, NY and a brother, George Dillingham, South Newark; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

His parents, two brothers, Llywllyn “Baldy” Forney and Peter Forney, a sister, Rita Cook, a brother-in-law, Leland Cook all died previously.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
