Gary D. Rogers Jr., 53, Alexandria Bay

ALEXANDRIA BAY, NY — Gary D. Rogers, Jr., 53, of Dingman Point Road, Alexandria Bay, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 19, at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, where he had been a patient since Sept. 12.

Born Aug. 8, 1965, in Alexandria Bay, a son of Gary D. and Marilyn Kendall Rogers, he graduated from Alexandria Central High School.

Gary worked for 17 years for the Village of Alexandria Bay and also served as caretaker at Little Ironsides Island for the Krawechenko family.

He was a member of the Alexandria Bay Fire Department, and enjoyed spending time at Wagoner’s Marina.

He was an avid outdoorsman, ice fisherman and NASCAR fan.

A marriage to Terri Adams ended in divorce.

He is survived by a son, Matthew J. Rogers; a daughter, Mrs. Christian (Ashley) Evans; a granddaughter, Kenlee Rogers; his father, Gary D. Rogers, Sr; a brother, William J. Rogers, all of Alexandria Bay; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Carolyn) Gill, Plessis, and Mrs. Michael (Debra) Hoover, Redwood.

There will be no public services.

Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Alexandria Bay will be private.
