ALEXANDRIA BAY, NY – Gerald A. “Gerry” Chaltain, 70, passed away July 2 nd , at the Syracuse VA Medical Center.
Born Oct. 15, 1948, in Alexandria Bay, a son of Jacques J. and Pauline Marie Kramer Chaltain, he graduated from Alexandria Central High School.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1975, stationed in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He was a lifetime member of the Alexandria Bay American Legion.
He worked most of his life as a truck driver, working for various trucking companies during his career.
He is survived by a brother, Victor Chaltain, Alexandria Bay; three sisters, Marie Tidd, Alexandria Bay, Jackie Chaltain, Houston, TX and Johannah Bullock Chaltain, Colorado; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Jack Chaltain.
There will be no services.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alexandria Bay Fire Department.
