TULLY, NY  — Hans Christopherson, 52, Tully, NY, passed away on Jan. 16, 2021.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Inc., Watertown.

Hans was born in Syracuse and lived in the Tully area all of his life.

As owner of Christopherson Land Surveying he provided surveying and high accuracy positioning services in the Northeast & Mid Atlantic US. He also provided boundary and engineering surveys to the greater Central NY Area.

After graduating from Faith Heritage High School, he attained his Bachelors of Engineering (Surveying) with high honors from SUNY Alfred, receiving numerous surveying, engineering, Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing Scholarship awards.

Han was a member of: Tau Alpha Pi National Engineering Honor Society; Past Board of Director – NYS Association of Professional Land Surveyors; Past President – Central New York Society of Land Surveyors; American Society of Civil Engineers; Town of Tully Planning Board, Tully Historical Society.

Hans enjoyed being an involved uncle to his nephew and three nieces, playing with the neighbor kids as they grew up, as well as being a host parent for children during the summers for a month from conflict areas of Belfast, Northern Ireland through Project Children. Also enjoyed quietly giving his time and finances to various charities that helped improve the welfare of children and animals.

He was an honorable man who was loved, admired, and respected by people both near and far.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 30+ years: Amy Turnbole Christopherson of Tully, NY, his mother, Margo Christopherson, Tully NY, his brother, Eric Christopherson, LaFayette, NY, his in-laws John and Marilyn Turnbole, Verona Beach, NY; his brother and sister in-law, Paul and Annette Turnbole, Sherrill, NY. He is also survived by three nieces (Bridget, Sophia & Grace) and a nephew Jason Christopherson of Auburn, NY, along with several cousins.

He was predeceased by his father August L. Christopherson.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.

Burial will be in the Ellisburg, NY, cemetery in the spring.
