Ogdensburg woman accused of cashing fictitious check at Price Chopper in Watertown

WATERTOWN, NYSamantha N. Davis, 30, of 5 Garro Rd., Hogansburg, was charged by Watertown police at 6:46 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 43615 Route 12, Alexandria Bay, with second-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and petit larceny.

Police allege she cashed a fictitious check in the amount of $632.67 at about 4:28 p.m. July 11 at Price Chopper, 1283 Arsenal St., police said. The business name listed on the check was NYS Commissioner of Taxation and Finance, according to court documents.

She was being held pending arraignment Wednesday morning in City Court.
