CARTHAGE, NY — Hugh L. Smith, 57, Carthage, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at the University Hospital SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse.
There are no calling hours or funeral service.
Private burial will take place in the spring.
Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home Inc., Adams, NY.
Born Dec. 12, 1961, in Watertown, a son of Lyman P. and Anna May (Redder) Smith, he has been a client of Jefferson Rehabilitation Center for many years, lately residing in Carthage.
Hugh is survived by a brother, Erwin Smith, Rodman; a sister, Ethel Smith, Rodman; two nephews, James Smith, Burrville and Nathan Smith, Rodman; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents.
