‘It’s become a tradition’: Dropkick Murphys to perform Sunday, Aug. 28, at New York State Fair

SYRACUSE, NY —  Boston’s great Celtic-punk band Dropkick Murphys return to the Great New York State Fair in 2022 for its fourth performance in a row. The band behind “Tessie” and “I’m Shipping Up To Boston” will take the Chevy Court stage at 6 p.m. Sunday, August 28. All concerts in the Chevrolet Music Series are free with Fair admission. Concerts at the Fair are sponsored by Chevrolet.

Fair Director Troy Waffner said, “Before Dropkick Murphys played here in 2018, they had never played a state fair before. Now, they’re a mainstay of our schedule. It’s become a tradition, and a great one. It’s a unique band with great fans and I can’t wait to see them again.”

·         The Art of Rap featuring Ice-T, 8 p.m. August 25, Chevy Park stage

·         Boyz II Men, 8 p.m. August 29, Chevy Park stage

·         Nelly, 8 p.m. August 31, Chevy Park stage

·         24KGoldn, 8 p.m. September 2, Chevy Park stage

·         Night Ranger, 1 p.m. September 5, Chevy Park stage

Founded in 1841, the Great New York State Fair showcases the best of New York agriculture, provides top-quality entertainment and is a key piece of the state’s CNY Rising strategy of growing the Central New York economy through tourism. The 2022 Fair runs from August 24 to September 5.
