UPDATE: No Unnecessary Travel in All of Jefferson County

WATERTOWN, NY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has issued a No Unnecessary Travel Advisory Jefferson County beginning at 1:34 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, until further notice.

This means that caution is advised as hazardous driving conditions could be encountered due to heavy lake effect snow, blowing snow and snow covered roads. Visibility may be limited due to blowing and drifting snow.

The Wind Chill Warning issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect until 6pm this evening and the Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7am Friday.

Motorists should adjust travel plans accordingly.
