Jewel A. Best, 76, Lowville

LOWVILLE, NY — Jewel A. Best, 76, entered into glory early Monday morning, Nov. 11, 2019, at her home under the care of her husband.

Born Oct. 10, 1943, in Kinston, NC, the daughter of the late Harold and Gladie Raye (Langston) Adams, she graduated from B.F. Grady High School in Duplin County, NC.

She was united in marriage with James E. Best on Aug. 17, 1963, at Garners Chapel in Duplin County, NC.

She was a secretary for the Boling Chair Company in Mt. Olive, NC.

Jewel loved drawing and was interested in home decorating. She was a very energetic grandmother. She was a member of the Carolina Beach First Baptist Church and most recently Abundant Life Community Church in Lowville.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James, their two children and spouses, Kevin (Frankie) Best of Goldsboro, NC; Emily (Franz) Philippe of Lowville; her three grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, and Kyle (Courtney); her great granddaughter, Azalea; her aunt, Betty Taylor, and her cousin, Hugh (Cathy) Adams.
