LAFARGEVILLE, NY —Â Jill M. Flynn, 48, of Carter Street Road, LaFargeville, died Saturday evening, Aug. 31, 2019, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY, after a brief illness.
Born Nov. 27,1970, in Massena, NY, a daughter of Richard Flynn and Norma LaRock Flynn, she was educated and graduated from Copenhagen High School. Jill also attended Jefferson-Lewis BOCES nursing program and graduated with an LPN Degree.
She went to work for Family Home Care until going back to BOCES as an employee about 10 years ago. Recently she has worked at Indian River Central School in a program with special children until retiring in February of this year due to ill health.
A marriage to Bernard Smith of Watertown ended in a divorce.
Survivors include a daughter and companion, Alicia Smith and Colton Denny of LaFargeville, NY; a granddaughter, Brystol Casler, a grandson, Bryson Casler; her father and step-mother, Richard and Judy Flynn of Massena, NY; her mother Norma LaRock of LaFargeville, NY; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Timothy Flynn of Watertown, NY, Thomas and Jennifer Flynn of Massena, NY, Robert and Amanda Flynn of Arizona; a step brother and wife, Robert and Mary Beth Baker of Virginia; and a sister Grace Ferguson of Watertown, NY.
Her greatest love was her two grandchildren Brystol and Bryson.
Jill loved to travel on cruises especially to where the weather was warm.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Thursday Sept. 5, 2019, at the Klock Smith Post American Legion in LaFargeville , NY.
