COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA — John Farley Weeks passed away at his home in Colonial Heights, VA, on May, 22, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
John was born in Ft. Jackson, SC, to Farley E. Weeks and Julianna (Littlefield) Simpson, April 5, 1962. As a child he lived in Liberty, ME, eventually moving to Chaumont, NY, and finally settling in Colonial Heights, VA, where he married Darla Mahon in 2015.
Employed by Purcell Construction as a superintendent since 1988, he relocated with the company to Virginia in 2007. When John wasn’t on a job site, you could find him outdoors; riding his Harley, fishing, kayaking, and camping. John also enjoyed raising horses and parrots. Building and flying model airplanes was a favorite hobby. Spending time with his extended family was always a priority.
Surviving are his parents, Farley Weeks, Liberty, ME, and Julianna Simpson, Cicero, NY; his wife, Darla (Mahon) Weeks. John’s step-children, Timothy Mahon and Tiffany Robbins (Dusty), of Colonial Heights, VA, and Nichole Gottschalk, Sackets Harbor, NY; his sister, Dedra Brown (Jim), Cicero, NY, half-sister Alison Weeks, Jamaica Plain, MA. John was blessed with three step-sisters and a step-brother, several nieces and nephews, and eight grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a remembrance gathering will take place at a date to be determined. John’s wishes to be cremated will be honored.
