EVANS MILLS, NY — Jose B. Quintana, 46, Evans Mills, passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Calling hours are 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, 632 State St., Watertown.
A funeral service will follow the calling hours at the funeral home.
Jose is survived by his wife Robin, Evans Mills; his father Rudolpho, New Mexico; his son Joshua and daughter Miranda, both of Watertown; his step children Chantelle Howland, Andrew (Kate) Shaw, Dylan Shaw, Eric (Anne) Shaw, Michael (Melissa) Shaw, all of Watertown; 11 grandchildren; two sisters Melissa Quintana (Wayne Santos), Watertown and Ashley (Matthew) Jodoin, Kansas; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his mother, Estella Kaler and his grandparents Albert and Isabelle Kaler.
Born Sept. 11, 1973, in Watertown, a son to Rudolpho Quintana and Estella Kaler, he graduated from Watertown High School.
Jose worked as a landscaper for a few years before joining the US Army.
He was honorably discharged in March of 2002.
Following his military service, Jose returned to Sonny’s Landscaping and later to Fort Drum as a material handler with MEDACC for the past 13 years, a position he held at the time of his passing.
Jose enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, tinkering in his garage and being alongside his dog “Daisy”.
