CALCIUM, NY – Kathryn A. Powis Cheney, 71, NYS Route 11, Calcium passed away, Monday morning, Jan. 21, 2019, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
A memorial service will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville with Pastor Mike Bartholomew officiating. Calling hours are from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in West Lowville Rural Cemetery.
Born July 25, 1947, in Lowville, a daughter of the late Kenneth Powis Sr. and Edith Richter Powis, she graduated in 1965 from Lowville Academy.
She enjoyed crocheting.
Kathryn is survived by two sons, Christopher Cheney of Fairport and Jason Cheney of Syracuse; five brothers, Benjamin (Bernie) Powis of Akron, Kenneth (Denise) Powis of Copenhagen, Robert Powis of Lowville, William Powis of Boonville, Norman (Heather) Powis of Pulaski; several nieces, nephews and special cousins, Charles (Chloe) Davis, Janet Wisner, & Gina Brownell.
She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Powis who died at age 2; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Powis.
