LAFARGEVILLE, NY — The LaFargeville Central School would like to congratulate the Class of 2023 academic leaders:

Natalie Waterman, daughter of Chris Waterman and Mary Ford-Waterman, has been named valedictorian of the LaFargeville Central School Class of 2023 earning a cumulative overall average of 98.55. Natalie has been active in HOPE Club, Whiz Quiz, Soccer, Cheerleading, and Spanish Club while working to be the top student in her class academically. She has also served on the Student Council representing her peers and this year was elected Student Council President. She served alongside teachers, administrators, and community
members on the District Planning Committee and is an EMT with TIERS. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was featured as an academic all-star on Channel 7 News. Natalie has maximized her opportunities as a student at LCS, earning forty-one college credits. Natalie will earn a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors and Mastery in Science and Math. She will be attending Clarkson University next year as a biology major with plans to continue her education to become a physician’s assistant or doctor.
Lily Derouin, daughter of Kathryn Lewis and Derek Derouin, has been named the LaFargeville Central School salutatorian of the Class of 2023 earning a cumulative overall average of 95.82. She is the current Treasurer of the Class of 2023, Student Council, and Foreign Language Club. She is also the Secretary of the Yearbook Club and a member of the Prom Committee, HOPE Club, and National Honor Society. Lily was also Captain of the Varsity Softball Team. Lily has earned thirty-six college credits while at LCS and will graduate with a Regents Diploma with advanced designation. She plans to attend Jefferson Community College in the fall where she will major in psychology. She then plans to pursue a doctorate in counseling.
Allyson Morgan, daughter of Luke and Andrea Morgan, has been named the LaFargeville Central School 2023 outstanding vocational student. Ms. Morgan has been very successful in the classroom ranking sixth overall in the Class of 2023. Allyson was recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society which is a tremendous accomplishment. At the end of the year, Allyson will earn a Regents Diploma and will have successfully completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program at Jefferson-Lewis BOCES. She has also earned an additional six college credits while attending LCS. Next year, Allyson plans to attend the Jefferson Community College RN Program to pursue a career as a nurse.
