ADAMS CENTER, NY — Lance W. Connell, 49, Adams Center, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, Aug. 23, 2018, in the emergency room at Samaritan Medical Center. He had been ill with a heart condition.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, in Dexter Cemetery with Rev. Melissa McCarthy, Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, presiding. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.
Born March 26, 1969, in Watertown, the son of Walter C. and Shirley M. Baker Connell, he was a 1986 graduate of South Jefferson High School and from BOCES in the diesel mechanic shop.
He worked as a diesel mechanic for various companies, including Rodman Landfill and for Fort Drum.
Lance enjoyed his vegetable gardening, repairing cars, and woodworking.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley M. Connell, Adams Center, two aunts, a niece and a nephew, three great nieces, and cousins.
His father, Walter, died May 25, 1996 and his brother, Hance W., died June 16, 1986.
