PULASKI, NY — Larry E. Groff, 83, Pulaski, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at his residence.
A graveside service with military honors will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, in Adams Rural Cemetery.
Born June 7, 1939, in Adams, he was one of 10 children of the late William and Clara Groff. Following graduation from South Jefferson High School Larry enlisted in the United States Navy in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1967.
Following his military service Larry worked several jobs throughout his adult life, landing at Disneyland where his worked security until his retirement. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the American Legion, Post 1757, Sackets Harbor, NY.
He is survived by a brother, James (Mary) Groff, Adams; a daughter, Laurel (Mike) Adair, Watertown; two sons, Barry, Sean (Linda) Groff, both from Watertown; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, his siblings, Charles, Richard, William, Robert, Arene, Helen, Dorothy, a daughter, Michelle, and a great-granddaughter, Emerson Claire.
Larry will always be remembered for his great love for his country, his superior athleticism and whit.
He was always ready with a joke and made everyone he knew laugh. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be greatly missed, but rests in the arms of Jesus, where we will see him again one day.
