WATERTOWN, NY — Larry W. Knight, 75, passed away Monday, morning, Oct. 10, 2022, with his family at his side under the care of Hospice.
Born in Watertown, the son to Donald and Frances “Ginny” Earls Knight, he graduated in 1966 from Watertown High School.
He has been married to Linda DeMarr for 54 years, marrying in August 1968.
Larry was an auto body mechanic at the Jefferson County Highway department, retiring in 2007. He also served in the Army Reserves with the 479th Engineering Battalion at Fort Drum for 26 years, retiring with the rank of E-7.
Larry had many hobbies, but his most profound was collecting people. He also enjoyed boating, camping, golfing and bowling. Larry was a member of the National 700 Club and the Watertown Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Terrence Heiler, Watertown, a son, Richard, Auburn; his grandchildren, Olivia, Todd, Colton, Joshua and Alexander; a sister Linda Eveleigh, Watertown; her children Jeffrey and Tracy Eveleigh and Julie Baran. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Raymond Eveleigh and his parents, Donald and Ginny Knight.
A celebration of life will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Watertown Elks Club.
