Laurence W. Mallette, Jr., 70, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY —  Laurence W. Mallette, Jr., 70, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, at the Albany Medical Center where he had been a patient since November 3.

Born June 29, 1950, in Tacoma, Washington, the son to the late Laurence W. Sr. and Delores Stapleton Mallette, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 serving during the Vietnam War.

In 1988 he retired with 20 years of service. While serving he received a National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Vietnam Service Medal and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Following his retirement from the Army he went to work for Yellow Cab, Watertown.

He was a member of the American Legion, Post 61 and the VFW, Post 1400 where he was a Trustee and past Quarter Master.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria, Watertown; son Laurence W. Mallette, III, Illinois;
daughter Brandi Bassard, Texas; granddaughter Anita, 1 great-grandson and 2
brothers, William L. (Faith) Mallette, Rochester, John Mallette, Rochester and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Thomas Mallette.

Per his wishes there will be no services held.
